Associate Director, Legal Affairs, Canadian Council of Christian Charities
Deina is the Associate Director, Legal Affairs at the Canadian Council of Christian Charities. She provides
legal support and advice to senior leadership and team members on a broad range of charity, tax and
trust law issues. She earned her LL.B. from the University of Ottawa, articled as a Judicial Law Clerk at
the Superior Court of Justice, and completed her LL.M. at Osgoode Hall. Prior to joining CCCC, Deina’s
practice focused largely on constitutional and human rights law, with a strong interest in religious
freedom. She has served as counsel in a variety of trial and appeal courts, including interventions before
the Supreme Court of Canada in Trinity Western and Wall v Highwood Congregation, and the Ontario
Court of Appeal in CMDS v CPSO. Deina serves on several charitable boards, is a member of Christian
Legal Fellowship and is actively engaged in her local church.
