Marie-Christine Bélanger is the Director of Consulting Services and Innovation in SOCODEVI. She has been working in designing and implementing agricultural insurance products in various developing countries. She has a bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, a Master’s in Soil Science and a Ph.D. in Proximal Sensing of the vegetation. In SOCODEVI she is now in charge of supervising a team of consultants in various fields including Gender Equality, Environment, Agricultural Risk Management, and, Monitoring & Evaluation. She has a broad perspective of the risk faced by smallholder farmers and their families and on the challenges faced by the organizations willing to implement innovations such as Agricultural Insurance in remote areas.
