A former Canadian diplomat, Colin Robertson is Vice President and Fellow at the Canadian Global Affairs Institute and hosts its regular Global Exchange podcast.  He is an Executive Fellow at the University of Calgary’s School of Public Policy and a Distinguished Senior Fellow at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University.  Robertson sits on the advisory councils of  the Johnson-Shoyama School of Public Policy,  North  American Research Partnership, the Sir Winston Churchill Society of Ottawa and the Conference of Defence Associations Institute  He is an Honorary Captain (Royal Canadian Navy) assigned to the Strategic Communications Directorate. During his foreign service career, he served as first Head of the Advocacy Secretariat and Minister at the Canadian Embassy in Washington and Consul General in Los Angeles, as Consul and Counsellor in Hong Kong and in New York at the UN and Consulate General. A member of the teams that negotiated the Canada-U.S. FTA and then the NAFTA, he is a member of the Deputy Minister of International Trade’s NAFTA Advisory Council and the North American Forum.  He writes on foreign affairs for  the Globe and Mail and he is a frequent contributor to other media. The Hill Times has named him as one of those that influence Canadian foreign policy, most recently in their 2018 ‘top forty’.

Vice-président, Politiques internationale et budgétaire, Conseil canadien des affaires 

Brian Kingston est Vice-président, Politiques internationale et budgétaire au Conseil canadien des affaires. Il dirige les travaux du Conseil touchant le commerce international, les investissements ainsi que les questions de politiques budgétaires et monétaires. Dans le cadre de ses fonctions, il donne des conseils sur les questions bilatérales et trilatérales avec les États-Unis et le Mexique, dirige l’engagement du chef de la direction avec l’Inde, le Japon, le Brésil et la Chine, le réseau consultatif en politiques fiscales du Conseil, et le rapport annuel sur la Total Tax Contribution. Avant de se joindre au Conseil, Brian était économiste et analyste politique au gouvernement fédéral, occupant des postes au ministère des Finances, à Affaires mondiales Canada, au Secrétariat du Conseil du Trésor et au Bureau du Conseil privé. En plus de son expérience en entreprise et au sein du gouvernement, Brian est engagé dans le secteur des organismes sans but lucratif comme vice-président, Opérations mondiales des Jeunes Canadiens en Finance et comme président de la Ottawa Economics Association. Il est titulaire d’un baccalauréat en économie de l’Université de Carleton, d’une maîtrise en affaires internationales de la Norman Paterson School of International Affairs et d’une maîtrise en administration des affaires de la Ivey Business School.
